Paul Soren Hanson was born on April 25, 1875, in Fountain Green, San Pete County, Utah. He married Clarissa Ellis Seeley ("Clara" in his journal) on June 15, 1899, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Apparently, he went by his middle name, because his wedding ring said "S & C June 15th '99." His oldest son, Lester, was born 3 days after this journal begins, on April 20, 1900.
